Yachtport SA completes topsides respray and bottom copper coating
Yachtport SA recently performed major painting and antifouling coatings on a Beneteau Sense 55 named S/Y Grand Lux.
To achieve this the yacht was hauled-out at our dedicated maintenance and repair facility in Saldanha Bay utilising our 100-ton travel lift. The mast was first stepped before the yacht was moved indoors to the modern hangar size workshop.

Once settled onto support cradles, the work of preparing the hull topside and bottom for coating took place.
The owner opted for a beautiful new Alexseal Blue-Grey topside colour which followed after the sanding preparation and primer coats were applied. This specialised respray done under a fully tented structure within the closed workshop ensured a perfect finish that has brought the yacht exterior back to original condition, if not even better than new.
A new boot stripe was also applied and new branding decals, including the yacht name, finished off the topside work.
The hull antifouling was also fully restored with copper coat to complete the below waterline works.
Maintenance was also carried out on the mast components in preparation for installation.
S/Y Grand Lux was launched on 21 February 2023 and once final mast and rigging tensioning is completed, she will depart Saldanha and South Africa on to her next voyage.
This project was conducted and fully managed in-house by Yachtport SA to ensure quality and timeous completion.
