Work-boat launch site of choice
The Western Cape Province in South Africa is home to many boat builders, being the second largest producer of catamarans. In addition there are also builders for the local commercial market.
Yachtport SA has been the launch site of choice to three new-build work-boats. Once again we are proud to support the local boat building community with a quality launch and commissioning facility.
The 47ft steel work boat, “Renja”, was built in nearby Yzerfontein and arrived at Yachtport SA via truck and trailer. She was purposed built to provide in-port services within Saldanha Bay.
The GRP work boat “Geo Explorer” is a 45ft Lee Cat which has been outfitted to support in-shore diamond mining operations on South Africa’s Northern West Coast. She was built in Montague Gardens and also transported via truck and trailer road to Yachtport SA for launching and commission.
The 45ft GRP work boat “Thorfin” has been built by Sachal & Stevens in St Helena Bay. Purposed built for line fishing on South Africa’s West Coast.
