M/Y Princess in for Emma bottom refurbishment
The flagship motor yacht of Cape Town is in for extensive bottom refurbishment works at Yachtport SA this winter.
Once lifted with the largest travelift in the country and placed into our dedicated yacht maintenance shed, extensive works are to take place to her wetted hull.
All her wetted hull coatings are to be stripped off and built up with a fresh antifouling system.
The works are to take place inside the Yachtport Shed so that work can continue unaffected by the winter rains.
After several seasons of re-application of a hard matrix antifoul, an extensive effort is required to remove the build-up of old paint.
In addition, a detailed hull survey and shaft survey will be undertaken as well as minor spray painting works to cosmetic areas.
Once completed she will be able grace Cape Town’s waters in good fashion while performing at her best.
