Jacob V visit

Yachtport SA had the privilege again this year to have Jacob V back for a fresh coat of paint and some TLC. She however will be staying over for a while on our hardstand facility.

October tip of the month

# Anchoring and Mooring : Anchor preparation

Before you decide where to anchor there are a few considerations to take in to account.

  •  Changes in depth: When you anchor in an area with a rise and fall of tide, it is essential that you know that there will be sufficient depth for the vessel at low tide.

This is ensured by calculating the height of tide when you arrive, subtracting the height of low water to find the fall of the tide, then adding this to the draught of the boat and the required clearance below the keel at low water. See the example below:

Height of tide on arrival =

- Height of low tide =

Fall of the tide =

+ Draught of vessel =

+ Clearance required below the keel at low water =

Minimum depth of water in which to anchor =

This has been called the FUD rule. This stands for FALL+UNDER+DRAUGHT.

Leisureliner - Fractional Ownership

“Owning” your own Leisureliner II just got a whole lot easier! And that’s not just on the pocket either. Are you put off owning a boat because of the cost? Are you put off by the hassle of maintenance and continual worry that the boat is safe on her mooring? Are you frustrated by the amount of time it takes to get your boat ready every time you want to go away for a few days - and then the packing up when you leave?

Our Fractional ownership model doesn’t just halve your costs and hassles - it more than quarters them!

Yachtport SA will be the base from where the fleet will be managed and will be providing all the services. We are looking forward to this great new adventure together with the team from Leisureliner.

Moonshadow Star

This week we had to say goodbye to Brian and Sandy Duker from the vessel Moonshadow Star. She was on harstand with us for quite some time. We really got use to her here. After we gave her a new coat of paint and a nice hull polish, we had to say goodbye to them. They will now be on their way to another adventure....Australia, New Zealand or just wherever the wind takes them.

We wish them well on their journey. c_130_130_16777215_00___images_Sept2014_News_img_3139.jpgc_130_130_16777215_00___images_Sept2014_News_img_3145.jpg

Princess Emma came to visit

Last week Princess Emma and her crew came around for a visit. She was given a nice high pressure clean and a fresh coat of paint. She is ready for the summer season again.
